- !!SPOILER WARNING!!
I don't even know where to begin with tonight's episode. I still think the beginning scene with Lizzie was very strange like it's leading up to something else. I honestly don't know what to say, except that I feel so sad after this episode. Please discuss your thoughts. There's also U.S.S. Caryl if you want to read more insights into the episode. How do you think Daryl will react? Do you think Rick will tell him the truth? I don't know if we'll ever see Carol again, but I think Rick is going to give Daryl that momento of Carol's. We can't expect to get what we want from "The Walking Dead," but I am happy Carol is alive. I wonder if she will ever show back up on the show.
I need to add more to this journal, so people are saying that this is a foreshadowing of Daryl disappearing from the show temporarily to go look for Carol. What do you think? I can't imagine he won't go look for Carol. He looked for Sophia. If he does leave to look for Carol, it'll be after he's taken care of the sick group members by giving them medicine. I think all hell is going to break loose after Rick tells Daryl what he did. Rick and Daryl are going to fight (it's going to be really hot).
The main reason I believe Rick banished Carol is because he's afraid of someone like Shane or Carol influencing his son, Carl. He's not afraid of Carol hurting his son (Carl is just as scary as Carol right now and that scares Rick), but he's afraid of Carol changing Carl into someone he doesn't want his son to be. Rick doesn't like seeing what he could become when he looks at Carol. It's also a possible future that Rick sees for himself and he's trying to fight that image. The second reason Rick left Carol is because he truly believed that Tyreese was going to kill her and he didn't want that to happen.
Honestly, throughout the entire episode, I thought Rick was going to kill Carol. I was upset with Rick, but I was relieved when he left her there. I feel like we're going to see more from her, because Kirkman could have just killed off her character (Heaven forbid) right then and there but he didn't.
I want to remind everyone... we still don't entirely know if Carol did kill Karen and David! I know she said she did (please, Kirkman isn't going to spoon feed us the entire truth), but I feel like Carol might be protecting Lizzie. What if Lizzie did murder Karen and David, and she kills more people at the prison and the group finds out about it? Then Rick is going to have that, oh shit face, "I screwed up. My bad, my bad. Don't hurt me, Daryl." Maybe Lizzie didn't do it... Carol might have done it, but the season isn't over yet so I don't know. It still feels too strange the scenes with Carol and Lizzie. Those scenes feel more about Lizzie and less about Carol, but hey, that's just me.
Someone on U.S.S. Caryl had this to say about Lizzie's comment about Daryl:
- "Sorry to send you this, I know your inbox must be flooding (lol ship jokes, sorry, bad pun), but with everyone focusing on the whole "Rick abandoned Carol OMG," I thought I'd share something that popped out at me in the beginning of the episode, when Lizzie asks Carol if she thinks Daryl's dead. Lizzie doesn't ask about Tyreese or Bob or Michonne-If she knew Daryl went on the run, she probably knew the others did, too, but she asks about Daryl bc even she, a little kid, can see that CARYL is a thing." -Anonymous
RebasTweeba pointed out something very important that you all should know! I'm going to quote our Founder, because she brought up some great stuff:
- "Melissa was seen filming a few days ago so we know she's not dead yet either! And I'm hoping she's in the next episode and I'm hoping Daryl goes after her! And in one of the previews for an episode in the future, there is bodies being burned and a lot of the group is standing around it, including Carol. She'll be back. -RebasTweeba, Admin, Founder of Daryl-x-Carol
Check out this quote too from the U.S.S. Caryl Captain:
- "I don’t think he will leave the prison either, I think he will go out looking for her, and day after day not find her. Thinking he is failing her, just like he did when he couldn’t find Sophia… And then, Carol is going to pop up right when they need her with a group of her own trailing after her like a bunch of hurrying after their mama." -U.S.S. Caryl Captain
Let me add that Rick is completely hypocritical! I realize that Shane was trying to kill him, but Shane lowered his weapon! Y'all remember that? He lowered his weapon! And then Rick killed him anyway. That's not exactly in self-defense, so Rick is hypocritical when it comes to "judging Carol." Everyone in the group has done something crazy, even Carl. Do you think he'd banish his own son? Hell no!
I see why Rick didn't go with the council members, because Hershel is in the infected area, Glenn is sick, Maggie and Beth... (are they on the council?), Carol was on the council, and he knows Daryl is going to always side with Carol.
Let's be honest. What Lori was to Rick, that's what Carol is to Daryl. The reason I feel justified in saying that is because Daryl and Rick have gone through a lot of the same things. They've both been overly concerned about a child. Daryl about Sophia. Rick about Carl. Rick had to have a confrontation with his best friend (who did bad stuff), who turned zombie and he had to deal with that. Daryl had a confrontation with his brother (who did bad stuff), who turned zombie and he had to deal with that. They have had similar things happen to them. That's why I feel like Carol is Daryl's Lori, which means he loves her. Rick and Daryl mirror each other. Anyone else notice that?
I was feeling sad right after I saw the episode, but I am feeling happy now because I keep picturing like the reunion scene between Carol and Daryl... Daryl can't contain himself when he sees Carol and he so hugs her like no man has ever hugged a woman before. hah.
There's one thing we can be happy with. Maybe we will FINALLY find out Daryl's true feelings for Carol from his reaction to Carol's banishment.
Please follow Yvette Nicole Brown on Twitter. Did anyone else catch Yvette Nicole Brown's tweets on Twitter about the episode? She's a hardcore Caryl fan. She suggested a spinoff. Can we get a spinoff? Maybe like with Carol and Daryl just killin' zombies and makin' out in the woods...
Here's some of her tweets as she reacts to the episode:
I'll be honest with everyone, if you don't want to see Carol off the show... please follow Melissa McBride on Twitter. I'm sure the writers wanted to kill off Daryl, but he's such a popular character they won't ever do that. That's why anyone who has a Twitter account needs to follow that adorable Melissa McBride on Twitter. We need to support her as an actress ('cause she's AMAZING) and we need to support our mutual love for Carol!!
